I managed a small creative and event studio that served a diverse client base, including corporate non-profits and for-profits, schools and individuals. I created custom solutions for opportunities including fundraising events, corporate meetings and weddings. In addition to design and layout, I also provided custom illustration and letterpress printing for clients. My floral work was featured four times in The Washington Post, three times as the cover of the Home and Garden section.
AARP | Art Director | July 2000-April 2015
As an Art Director in AARP’s Brand department, I created award-winning communications that helped over 38 million older Americans realize life’s possibilities. During my 15 years at AARP, I worked on everything from pins to billboards, collaborating with departments and over 60 state offices within the Association. I helped manage creative in print and digital for AARP’s national and state-level programs, supporting oversight for Brand assets and art direction for the Association’s advocacy work. My responsibilities included:
– Collaboration with colleagues on Association re-branding campaign, including roll out of updated collateral, core office materials and creative assets.
– Creative direction and design for numerous campaigns, including ads, brochures, social media assets, info graphics, identity and marketing materials.
– Creative support for internal communications through newsletters, environmental signage, employee outreach and recognition.
– Support for the Association’s global brand development through print and multimedia projects, helping to position AARP as an international leader in aging.
